Mint + Icecream=Igloo of the Mouth
Why is it that when you eat a mint and than follow it up with a vanilla ice cream cone you get major brain freeze? Eating a mint prior to ice cream is like sucking on a mouth full of ice cubes all at once. So, why is it that I can enjoy my favorite Peppermint Bon Bon (a.k.a. mint chocolate chip for your west coasters) without the same reaction as if I ate a mint followed by a vanilla ice cream cone? Hmm... I think there is something that our mint-makers aren't telling us!

Is the same thing that if you put a nice piece of yummy Mint gum in your mouth and then take a drink of water. Or brush your teeth and then drink some water. It's BRUTAL on your mouth! And I'd be willing to bet that the result is much more intense after eating a mint because the mint is more concentrated in a candy than it is when meshed into ice cream.
