What an inspiring day! Today, I ventured downtown to check out the Grammy Museum. It is located at L.A. Live, next to the Staples Center.
The Grammy Museum is crammed full of exhibits that celebrate the highlights and accomplishments of so many of our singers and songwriters. I enjoyed viewing performance highlights of the Grammy Awards from over the years as well as ogle the fancy outfits once worn by artists at the awards.
What I enjoyed most about the museum was getting to see the original handwritten lyrics of my favorite songwriters. I loved seeing how they captured their thoughts on paper and then how they turned those thoughts into songs. My favorite was seeing Eminem's lyrics. He'll have page after page of literally hundreds of one-liners that he later condenses and magically fits into his songs.
I also enjoyed the John Lennon exhibit where you could also view several handwritten pages of his lyrics along with personal portraits and collectibles that were donated by Yoko.
Although it would have been nice if they allowed visitors to take pictures inside the museum, I left feeling inspired. I highly recommend taking an afternoon and checking out the Grammy Museum. There are exhibits for everyone to enjoy and it's located at L.A. Live where you'll find lots of places to grab a bite to eat afterward.
I Heart John Lennon... I go to Strawberry Fields quite often... There's always someone sitting nearby his memorial with a guitar in hand. I love listening to them sing Beatles songs... It definitely inspires me everytime.
