Tonight I attended an art exhibit that my friend helped organize, called, "TEL-ART-PHONE." Over 80 contemporary artists were assembled for TEL-ART-PHONE, a unique art exhibition that investigates the creative process. Mimicking the children’s game of “Telephone”, the work of one artist was lent to another artist to inspire a new artwork. The resulting piece was then passed on to another artist who had no idea what the first artwork looked like. Down the line this was repeated and the results were displayed, in order in the show.
Here is an example:

Not seeing the 1st Artist's picture, this 3rd Artist now had to base their creation on the 2nd piece only |

4th Artist's piece...You can still see the orange flames being incorporated |

It is pretty remarkable if you think about it, how each artist takes an element of the prior artist's work and creates their own piece of art. This was one of my favorites:
Another interesting element to the art show, was the "painting room." Some of the artists who had paintings on display took part in a mini "TEL ART-PHONE" in a side room. Seeing this made me think of my grade school art classes. I used to love art class!
Anyway, the gentleman you see featured to the left, is very talented painter. He had an amazing painting on exhibit in one of the rooms.
Here is what he painted...
He based his painting on the painting below. Click on the picture to enlarge. Can you see the circus act inside the painting above?
Here is another example of a progression I enjoyed seeing:

Thanks to my friends Charity and Cisko for inviting me to such an amazing art show. I had a fabulous time and really enjoyed meeting some creative and talented artists.
First: You look SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!
ReplyDeleteSecond: It amazes me the different aspects that artists see. Their minds are UNBELIEVABLE!
