Blessings

I love when interesting things happen in my life.  Like, when serendipitous occurrences or a surprising and welcoming event takes place that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws.  I try and refrain from using the word "luck" or "coincidence" because I believe God has a way of working himself into every and all situations. Therefore, I don't believe in using those two words.

Lately, God has been very visible in my life and it is exciting to see him working so hard.  For one, my key incident that took place on Friday.  If you don't know what I'm referring to, scroll down and read my blog about Karma.  Let's just say if I hadn't been doing a lot of good deeds lately, the Lord would have buried that key at the bottom of that beach.  How on Earth did that key get in the possession of those ladies?  It pays to have good Karma...and God on your side.

Secondly, I have been wanting to get into the worship team at my church for several years. I like to refer to their worship department as a mini music industry.  Due to our worship leader being who he is, and the fact that I live in LA where EVERYBODY and their brother sings, acts, produces and writes... It becomes very challenging getting the attention of our worship department.  To be considered for the worship team, you first must submit (and I am not making this up:)

1) Demo
2) Resume
3) Headshot

No, I am not getting them mixed up with "LA Models Casting Agency. " I submitted my press kit several times to the church and never received a response.  A talent agency, I get it...but, a church not responding? That left a sour taste in my mouth.  I finally gave up at one point and was insistent I'd go to another church where they welcomed my singing talent with open arms.  Well, isn't it funny how we often end up where we started? Several years later I came back to my church and got the attention of the worship leader who heads up my Women's Bible Study. She offered me a position in the Tuesday evening worship team. Tonight was my 2nd night on the gig, and I was asked to sing a solo already! I was SO excited!  Everything went swell and I thanked the worship leader afterwards for her faith in my abilities.  Hopefully this will lead to bigger and greater things within the church.

There have been so many other miraculous things that have happened over the course of the last few weeks. Some of those have been some sizable occurrences but most have been small.  I've made it a point to take notice and acknowledge these things God has done for me by keeping a "Grateful Journal" next to my bed.  The journal serves as a reminder for me to stay humble and appreciate all the wonderful things God has given me.

  1. I absolutely LOVE this post! I have to admit, in the first part when you said that you had to submit all those things in order to sing - I was completely appalled! All are welcome into God's church. He does not judge. So... they're luckily they REDEEMED themselves by asking you to sing! LOL!God is amazing isn't He? He is involved in EVERY situation in our lives and whether or not we know He's there, is up to us. If we aren't lookin' for Him, we won't see Him. He has been workin' on your heart and now look! Singing solos already! This is just awesome!

  2. Congrats! I know you have been wanting to sing in a church for a long time. I hope it goes well for you and that more opportunities come from it.
