The NAMM Show

Yesterday, I ventured down to Anaheim with some friends to spend the day at the NAMM Show.  It is a 4-day trade show for musicians.  Thousands flock to this convention every year to hear about the latest and greatest in music gear, instruments, gadgets and software. The entire Anaheim Convention Center was stuffed of vendors selling every possible product known to man. To give you a taste, they had:

Aisles of brass instruments...

Drums and Harps of every color...

And even  funky guitars...

I took an impressive production class where I learned how music was created for movie trailers.

Although taking this class was insightful and I enjoyed seeing all the gorgeous instruments, I also loved watching all the people in attendance. Walking aisle after aisle at the NAMM Convention, is like watching kids in a candy store. Everyone was SO happy to be there.  The laughter, the excitement, the friendly banter...it felt so good to be surrounded by such positivity.

Around every corner, you saw so many creative and talented individuals collaborating and sharing their passion for music.

Look closely, and you are bound to find some interesting hair too...

After the convention was over for the day, my friends and I headed across the street to the Marriot Hotel for some evening entertainment and networking.

Much to our surprise, Orianthi showed up and performed a few songs for us. She is best known for being Michael Jackson's electric guitar player for what would have been his upcoming, "This Is It" Tour.  She is also known for the pop hit, "According to You."  This girl can sing as well as shred an electric guitar like nobody's business!

After a long and exciting day, I took my blistered feet home and reflected on my amazing day. I was so thankful for such an amazing day.
