I feel kind of bad writing this blog entry since my last one was about Easter and all the love that surrounds the holiday. However, I can't help it! I have to get some good old fashion venting off my chest! I will try my best to pretty it up and save a life by doing so! :)
There are many things that I LOVE about LA. The fact that it is practically sunny and 80's all year round brings a smile to my face. I love the lemon trees, the beaches, the hiking trails, the entertainment industry surrounding us...need I say more? However, there are a few things that I do not like so much. Interestingly, they are all related to each other too. What they all have in common is people. TOO many people! I am a mild tempered individual (mom- don't you go rolling your eyes with that comment...I'm working really hard at it,) but nothing gets me more riled up than crowds of people! Traffic can be a nightmare on any of the major LA freeways, but the frustration that ensues still does not compare to my frustration with crowded coffee shops! There is nothing I loath more than driving around LA trying to find a coffee shop that has an empty seat in it. Back in the day, when I used to live on the westside, I would spend literally over an hour driving around trying to find a coffee shop that had a table and seat available. Give me a couch or a fold up chair; I am not picky. Anything!!! At least in the valley, I am not feeding meters before walking into a crowded coffee shop only to turn around and walk right back out like I did on the westside.
Today I ventured out to a coffee shop in hopes to get a seat and do some computer work. I figured it is close to 85-90 degrees outside so EVERYONE will be outside. Why would people want to hang out in a coffee shop on a day like today, right? SO WRONG! I walked into three coffee shops this afternoon starting at 1:45PM. 1) Starbucks, 2) Priscilla's, 3) Coffee Bean...all of which were crowded. What adds to my frustration is that I threw my back out the other day and having to lug my heavy laptop and bookbag with me is no easy task when you can barely walk. In and out I go into each coffee shop only to see it at capacity. Does ANYONE work in this town? Haha! I mean, I'm starting to think not.
Okay...I've send my piece and now I can go on with my day...writing at home on my computer where I at least can use the internet and my couch in peace :)
I have to say you have a lot more patience than me, my dear. I would have moved away a LONG time ago! I'll never forget my trip to London. It was SO busy! I'd never survive in that environment. So I'd say you're doing great!!!!!!!! Maybe now is a good time to buy your own coffee shop. Apparently it's a great business out there and you'll ALWAYS have a seat of your own! hee hee!
